What the Dooleys said on the way home from Harare . . .

Phil: ‘It was a ground-breaking week for us. It was pioneering, which is the spirit of our church. We’ve built some great relationships with church leaders. And I feel like people just had great times of worship with us. The whole deal with something like this is that it’s never about a show; it’s never about a group up on stage. It’s about encouraging people to have a worship encounter with God. You know, just have an encounter with him. And, just hearing the feedback of how people felt, that’s exactly what happened. It didn’t matter whether it was in a beautiful big auditorium in Zimbabwe, or under the African sky in a field in Livingstone. You know, the Spirit of God was obviously the same. I think it’s just stirred my heart even more for Africa. And it reminded me of two things – one is that we have a significant role to play, the other is we’ve got to partner with others. We’ve got to find out who the great people are in different African cities we can work with and, from there, just continue to build on the vision that God’s put in our hearts. We’d also like to say thank you to our church in Cape Town. The reason we’re able to do this is because we have a strong church in every way, from the team to the fact that people give and contribute. This is part of our vision to reach Africa, and we couldn’t do it without the church’s support in Cape Town. In every way, it’s just been a fantastic experience.’
Lucinda: ‘What a significant nine days! I am completely overwhelmed and honoured and privileged to have been able to be part of something so special! I believe thousands of lives were impacted and encouraged, but my highlight would be watching our superb team love, serve, and truly do whatever was required to touch the lives of others. I was also so blessed to watch them interact and build what I believe will be some long-term significant friendships. I love the church family! Phil and I are so blessed to be surrounded by such great men and women of God who are truly changing the world. Love Lucinda’
Abbey (11): ‘I loved this African adventure because it was totally . . . AMAZING! There is not even anything I liked the most because I loved absolutely EVERYTHING. But I must say it was incredible seeing so many people praise and worship Jesus. The Sisterhoods were also really great. I felt like we were constantly on the world’s best game drive because we saw so many fantastic animals. I really enjoyed this tour and it was an incredible experience. Love Abbey’
Bella (9): ‘What I liked most about the trip was everything. It changed my life because it was amazing. I would love to be a worship leader one day after what I saw in all these places and would love to help the children of Africa. We did a dance group for them. I loved it. And even Sisterhood, some girls came from 10 hours away. It was just amazing. Love Bella’
Regrettably, I didn’t have the opportunity to speak to six-year-old Zac, but Lucinda told me later that the kids have asked if they could go on a trip like this once a year from now on.
