As a Sisterhood, we are passionate about lending our strength to lift those in areas of challenge.
Here are some of the causes you can be involved in:
THE CUPCAKE REVOLUTION

Giving disadvantaged kids birthday parties with cupcakes to celebrate!
Ways to help:
1. Bake cupcakes for a party. (For the adventurous and budding bakers!)
2. Sponsor cupcakes for a party.
3. Donate the fun stuff for a party! E.g. Balloons, gifts, party hats, candles…
4. Come to a cupcake party and help make it amazing.
5. Help facilitate a cupcake party in a place of need.

SISTERHOOD PLAYGROUPS
A place to connect and play… For all moms with babies and toddlers!
Ways to help:
1. Join a Playgroup on Wednesday or Friday mornings and invite a mom along!
2. Get involved in running a Playgroup in your area.
3. Bake a treat to bless our moms at Playgroup.
4. Serve in one Sunday service in our Parents Room at church.
5. For all the creative gals, help make our Parents Room look beautiful!
6. Pray for the beautiful moms and babies of our city.

ORPHAN CARE FOUNDATION
A Friday afternoon program in Westlake to bless vulnerable children in that community.
Ways to help:
1. Volunteer at the program on Fridays from 1.30 – 3.30pm.
2. Donate hygiene packs for the children.
3. Donate emergency food packs – non-perishable food items.
4. Help care for the orphans in our city.
5. Pray for the vulnerable kids in our city that they will come to know Jesus and know God as their Father.

ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING
The battle against human trafficking cannot be fought by one person, but requires all of us to come together as one and stand for justice. Together, we can make a difference.
Ways to help:
1. Educate yourself on the reality of human trafficking and how we can combat it.
2. Spread the word.
3. Stay current with the latest news on human trafficking.
4. Fast and pray on the 1st of every month. Fasting is a personal reminder throughout the day of your commitment to see breakthrough in injustice. We stand in agreement to see the injustice of human trafficking abolished and set aside this day to focus on making a difference.
5. Stay alert! If you see something suspicious in your area, make sure you speak up and inform the local authorities.
6. Grab a prayer map and pray for countries where human trafficking is rife.

W.A.R. – Woman Against Rape
This is a new initiative…. As a Sisterhood, we are waging war against the injustice of rampant rape in this nation.
Ways to help:
1. Be aware and alert. Look out for those around you.

LOVE OUR COMMUNITY
We love these extraordinary women who have strength, beauty and resilience and want to show them the love of Jesus.
Ways to help:
1. Volunteer one afternoon a week to bless the women in our local communities.
2. Bake a beautiful treat for the women.
3. Smile, love and care for these women.
4. Pray for the women in our city who have challenging circumstances that they have to overcome everyday.

SHINE
Shine is a personal development program committed to seeing women regardless of age, cultural or socio-economic background, education or religion find their true value.
Ways to help:
1. Do the course.
2. Spread the word!
3. Become a Shine facilitator.
4. Let us know if you know of any place that could benefit from Shine.
5. Donate items that will help facilitate the course – e.g. hand cream, make-up, coloured pencils, pens, magazine etc.

PRISON MINISTRY

Loving the women in prisons and helping them find hope in Jesus.
Ways to help:
1. Help run Bible studies in prison.
2. Assist with the courses that are run in jail.
3. Help provide food for special events.
4. Write letters to encourage the believers in prison.
5. Pray for the women in prison and the team that goes in to minister to them.

Kilo-of-Kindness
Loving practically by donating non-perishable food items to those in disadvantaged seasons of life.
Ways to help:
1. Bring a non-perishable food item or more each week to our Love Sum1 desk.
2. Spread the word! Encourage friends and your Connect Group to be involved.
3. Remind each other to bring something. (Women do 10 million things so it’s easy to forget!)
4. Join the Love Sum1 team!
5. Pray for the needy in our city.

KNITTING SISTERHOOD

Use your skill to knit and sew to bless our community.
Ways to help:
1. if you can knit/crochet/quilt/crochet, let us know as we are currently working on projects like making blankets for those in need.
2. Gather a group of girlfriends and have a knitting tea party.
3. Use your skills to make something for the people around you. Encourage someone by making them feel special!
