Church Update
Hi Church!
Spring has arrived, a NEW month, with NEW opportunities… Why not make a decision to try something NEW this month? Replace some old habits that may actually be destructive with something new and positive to see your life move forward. It could be a choice to listen more to others, to encourage more, to exercise, to eat healthy (say no to sugar!), to take an extra moment in prayer or study God’s word, to join a connect group or serve in church life. These kind of decisions can be pivotal to our growth and transformation. Remember the choices we make daily determine the kind of life we will build over the long term. The bible calls it ‘sowing and reaping’ so why not take a moment at the start of this month and ask God to speak to you about an area He is wanting you to grow and mature in. Check out Romans 12:1-2 (Message version). It says it well… “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. 2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
This Sunday is COMMUNION. Jesus’ desire was for his followers to share communion together. At 9am and 11am, we encourage you to join with us and take a moment to reflect, remember and be grateful for all Christ has done for us! What a powerful Saviour we have! As we eat and drink together, His victory comes alive in our hearts afresh, and His great sacrifice stirs our passion and reminds of us of His unending Love!

1. TOUCHING HEAVEN NIGHT!!!
This Sunday September 5, 5pm with Abundant Life Church Worship Band
These guys are great friends, and we are looking forward to a fired up evening of passionate worship with them. Bring friends and let’s believe to see the Holy Spirit working afresh in the lives of people! Remember expectation is the breeding ground of miracles!!
2. LEADERSHIP VISION NIGHT
Next Thursday September 9, 7pm for 7:30pm start
Old Mutual Park, Presentation Room, Pinelands
For ALL Leaders, Volunteers and Helpers and those who would like to be involved in helping make church great! We will have some special announcements about our future, plus an inspiring word on leadership and of course ‘Leader of the MONTH’!!
3. HILLSONG AFRICA FOUNDATION (HAF) LAUNCHES SEPTEMBER 22!
The Hillsong Africa Foundation is officially launching! We are holding our launch at the Tembaletu School in Guguletu during the day. If you are working for a company that engages in Corporate Social Investment programs and you would like to know more, please email wesley.douglas@hillsong.co.za. We also have information on HAF and invitations available at the Info Desk before and after services on Sundays.
4. PRISON MINISTRY – Showing love to those who really need it…
Hillsong will be hosting a prison ministry event on September 11th (Drakenstein prison) and 18th September (Pollsmoor Prison) where you will be able to enter the prison as part of a team and see what prison ministry is all about. At Drakenstein prison, you will be able to witness a restorative justice ceremony where inmates will be asking for forgiveness from those they have harmed and their families whilst at Pollsmoor, you will be able to participate in a live worship experience and interact with inmates who love the Lord with all their hearts and need fellowship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
